Position: Build & Release Engineer - New Grad (December 2026)

Build & Release Engineer

Applied Intuition, Inc. is powering the future of physical AI. Founded in 2017 and now valued at $15 billion, the Silicon Valley company is creating the digital infrastructure needed to bring intelligence to every moving machine on the planet. Applied Intuition services the automotive, defense, trucking, construction, mining and agriculture industries in three core areas: tools and infrastructure, operating systems, and autonomy.

Eighteen of the top 20 global automakers, as well as the United States military and its allies, trust the company's solutions to deliver physical intelligence. Applied Intuition is headquartered in Sunnyvale, California, with offices in Washington, D.C.;
San Diego;
Ft. Walton Beach, Florida;
Ann Arbor, Michigan;
London;
Stuttgart;
Munich;
Stockholm;
Bangalore;
Seoul; and Tokyo.

We are an in-office company, and our expectation is that full-time employees primarily work from their Applied Intuition office 5 days a week. However, we also recognize the importance of flexibility and trust our employees to manage their schedules responsibly. This may include occasional remote work, starting the day with morning meetings from home before heading to the office, or leaving earlier when needed to accommodate family commitments.

This in-office expectation does not apply to contractor positions.

About the Team

The Release Management team owns the infrastructure and process that gets validated software out the door — release cuts, version uprevs, build pipelines, and artifact management — across our automotive platform. We collaborate with Program Validation for release gate sign-off and work alongside the Embedded, UX/HMI, and OTA domain teams to maintain release momentum and prevent last-minute emergencies.

About the Role

We are looking for a Build & Release Engineer to own release cuts from our Git repositories, manage uprevs (dependency/firmware version updates), build and maintain our CI/CD pipelines, and administer build artifact management. You will also own our internal Release Management portal — the system where all build artifacts and binaries are tracked, managed, and released — as its primary engineer.

This hands-on software engineering position demands robust coding proficiency alongside deep CI/CD expertise, as you will actively build and maintain a live application rather than just configuring pipelines.

At Applied Intuition, you will:

Release Engineering & Orchestration
  • Execute release cuts from Git repositories across multiple product lines and branches.
  • Manage version uprevs end to end, coordinating dependency and firmware bumps with upstream teams.
  • Define and own release branching, tagging, and versioning strategies.
  • Investigate and resolve complex build failures, coordinating fixes across development teams.
CI/CD Infrastructure
  • Design, build, and maintain scalable software release CI/CD pipelines for build, test orchestration, and deployment.
  • Automate build infrastructure to reduce manual effort and enforce pipeline quality gates.
  • Troubleshoot pipeline failures to ensure high availability and reliability for development teams.
Artifact Lifecycle Management
  • Own the artifact lifecycle, including versioning, signing, storage, and cross-environment promotion.
  • Maintain strict artifact provenance and traceability from commit to release.
  • Administer and optimize artifact repositories (e.g., Artifactory).
Internal Tooling & Portals
  • Develop and maintain the internal Release Management portal — the system of record for build artifacts, binaries, and release status.
  • Ship new features for the portal as its primary engineer, including UI, backend services, and external integrations.
  • Integrate the portal with CI/CD systems, artifact repositories, and downstream release workflows.
Cross-Functional Alignment
  • Partner with the Program Validation team and TPMs on release gate criteria and final sign-off.
  • Coordinate with domain teams (Embedded, UX/HMI, OTA etc) on release timing, risks, and blockers.
  • Communicate release status and critical path risks to stakeholders.

We're looking for someone who has:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Software…
