Financial client is seeking a senior
-level IT Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) Consultant to establish and mature its foundational IT governance framework, policies, standards, controls, and supporting documentation. This is a highly execution-focused role requiring a practitioner who can independently develop documentation and governance artifacts while collaborating with IT, Security, Risk, Audit, and business stakeholders.
The consultant will assess existing materials, identify gaps, and create net-new policies, procedures, standards, and controls documentation aligned with banking regulatory expectations. Success in this role requires deep knowledge of FFIEC guidance, NIST frameworks, IT auditing practices, cybersecurity governance, and financial services compliance.
This is not a project coordination or PMO role. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on builder capable of writing, implementing, and operationalizing governance content within a regulated banking environment.

Minimum Required Capabilities
Required
Banking Experience
- Minimum 5+ years in Governance, Risk, and Compliance within a bank or financial institution
- Experience supporting regulated banking environments
IT-Specific GRC Experience
Must possess experience in at least one of:
- IT Audit
- Information Security Governance
- Cybersecurity Compliance
- Technology Risk Management
- IT Controls Management
Framework Expertise
Working knowledge of:
- FFIEC IT Examination Handbook
- NIST Cybersecurity Framework
- NIST 800-53
- IT General Controls (ITGCs)
Documentation Development
Demonstrated experience authoring:
- Policies
- Standards
- Procedures
- Control Documentation
- Audit Evidence Documentation
Communication
- Ability to gather information from SMEs
- Translate technical content into governance documentation
- Executive-level communication skills

OCC Experience
- Direct experience supporting an OCC-regulated institution

This is a Contract position based out of Plano, TX.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $65.00 - $80.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
