Job Description

Mission Technologies, a division of HII, is seeking a Total Ship Training Capability (TSTC) Subject Matter Expert (SME) to serve as the primary technical and operational advisor to Commander, Naval Surface Force, U.S. Pacific Fleet (CNSP) N7. This full‑time, on‑site role in San Diego, CA supports the maturation and integration of Total Ship Training Capability (TSTC), Fleet Training Wholeness (FTW), and Live, Virtual, and Constructive (LVC) training environments to maximize surface fleet combat readiness.

The TSTC SME will synchronize training system efforts across multiple stakeholder organizations, evaluate training system impacts to fleet readiness, and deliver high‑quality staff work, executive briefs, and strategic communication products enabling informed decision‑making by senior leadership.

  • Serve as the primary technical and operational liaison to CNSP N7 leadership to synchronize training capability development, implementation, and readiness alignment.
  • Coordinate with Systems Commands (SYSCOMs), Type Commands (TYCOMs), Afloat Training Groups, Tactical Training Groups, and the Naval Surface and Mine Warfighting Development Center (NSMWDC) to integrate TSTC, FTW, and LVC environments into fleet exercises.
  • Participate in working groups, planning conferences, and cross‑functional stakeholder engagements to ensure training objectives remain aligned with fleet readiness directives.
  • Evaluate training system degradations, modernization efforts, capability development initiatives, and requirements generation activities, ensuring accurate assessment of training impacts.
  • Provide analysis and recommendations related to training system upgrades, innovations, and fleet implementation strategies.
  • Attend TYCOM planning meetings and produce written after‑action reports summarizing findings, risks, and recommendations to CNSP N7.
