Cybersecurity Associate Apprentice

At Allegion, we help keep the people you know and love safe and secure where they live, work and visit. With more than 40 brands, 14,000+ employees globally and products sold in 130 countries, we specialize in security around the doorway and beyond.

The Cybersecurity Associate Apprentice is a unique opportunity offered in partnership with the TechPoint Indiana Adult Apprenticeship Program. This role is designed for adults looking to launch a career in tech, focusing on aptitude and a willingness to learn rather than prior professional experience. As an apprentice, you will proactively learn and assist our senior team members within our global Allegion environment.

You will rotate through and support three critical areas of our security team:
Security Operations (Analyst), Security Architecture (Engineer), and Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC).

This position requires a problem-solving mindset, curiosity, and the ability to effectively operate in a blended environment of business and technical personnel of various levels across the global organization; specifically cross-functional engagement with other IT and business areas such as IT Infrastructure, Enterprise Applications, Regional IT teams, HR, and Legal.

Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to be employed in the United States. The company does not intend to provide sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H-1B, TN, etc.) for this employment position.

Hybrid:

At Allegion, we are driven by a bold vision: redefining safety while empowering our employees to thrive. When you join our team, you become part of a culture that values innovation, purpose, and excellence. This role offers the benefits of our dynamic hybrid work model—combining in-person collaboration for meaningful moments with the flexibility of remote work. Since hybrid arrangements can vary based on the needs of the individual, team and business, your talent acquisition partner will provide specific hybrid details about this role.

We are committed to fostering a healthy work-life balance and building meaningful connections, ensuring you have the tools, resources, and support needed to excel in any environment. Together, we'll unlock your potential and create a lasting impact.

While this is the current structure and we currently have no plans to change, we reserve the right to make changes to the hybrid schedule as needed at the Company's discretion.

What You Will Do:

  • Assist in the daily triage of SPAM reports, user requests, and security alerts under the guidance of senior analysts.
  • Shadow senior team members during security incidents to learn the Incident Response lifecycle and assist in running basic vulnerability scans.
  • Support the deployment, basic configuration, and troubleshooting of security software (e.g., endpoint detection, password managers, SASE).
  • Assist in writing, reviewing, and updating cybersecurity process, finding, remediation, and program documentation.
  • Gather evidence and documentation to assist in the achievement and maintenance of compliance goals regarding PCI-DSS, SOX, ISO, HIPAA, ITIL, NIST, etc.
  • Some weekend and evening assignments as well as availability during off-hours for participation in scheduled and unscheduled activities.
  • Maintain high standards of professionalism when dealing with sensitive or confidential IT security matters.

What You Need to Succeed:

  • Must meet the eligibility requirements of the TechPoint Indiana Adult Apprenticeship program.
  • High integrity, strong curiosity, a problem-solving mindset, and a genuine passion for technology and cybersecurity.
  • Learning agility, including a demonstrated ability to grasp business and technical subject matters.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including excellent verbal and written communication skills, and the comfort to ask questions when learning new concepts.
  • Organizational skills and the ability to work independently, plan workloads, and deliver on commitments.
