Technical BA Local – 5 days a week on-site. Open to relocation. 6-month contract to hire. This role is best described as a Technical Business Analyst rather than a pure Data Analyst. The ideal candidate is a Technical BA with strong Agile/Jira experience and enough technical aptitude (SQL, BI tools, data concepts) to grow into solutioning and architecture discussions, rather than a pure analytics or reporting-focused resource.

The BA skillset is the foundation; the technical skills are what elevate the candidate.

Requirements:

• Strong experience with requirements gathering and working closely with business stakeholders.
• Comfortable working in Jira and Confluence, including:
• Creating and managing user stories
• Writing acceptance criteria
• Supporting Agile delivery processes
• Solid understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
• Experience supporting large enterprise initiatives.
• Able to bridge communication between business and technical teams.

Technical

Skills:

Technical skills are important, but they are viewed as an enhancement to the BA foundation:

• SQL experience is valuable.
• Exposure to reporting and analytics tools such as Micro Strategy, Power BI, or Tableau is a plus.
• Ability to perform data validation and understand data-related concepts is preferred.
• Interest in growing into solution design, problem-solving, and light architecture discussions.

Ideal Candidate:

• Has a strong BA foundation first.
• Must have Jira and Confluence experience. Strong here.
• Can operate independently in Jira and Agile environments.
• Is proactive and curious about technical solutions.
• Wants to expand beyond gathering requirements and become a strategic contributor.
• Demonstrates a positive, collaborative attitude and willingness to learn.

What they don't want:

• A pure Data Analyst who primarily builds dashboards, writes queries, or focuses exclusively on reporting.
• Someone who only documents requirements without understanding the broader business and technical context.
• Candidates whose experience is heavily technical but lacks hands-on BA, Jira, and story-writing responsibilities
