Technical Consultant – Patient Monitoring – Township of Hamilton

Requirements Must have:

• 2.5+ years of professional experience in IT services or a related technical setting, ideally in a field-based or hospital healthcare environment.
• Experience with patient monitoring systems, telemetry units, ventilators, and defibrillators is strongly preferred.
• We need a solid foundation in IT systems, networking principles, and technical troubleshooting.
• A computer networking certification such as CompTIA Network+, CCNA, or an equivalent or higher credential is preferred; CCNA is encouraged for career growth.
• An associate degree in computer science, biomedical, engineering, or a related discipline, or an equivalent mix of education and experience, is required.
• A bachelors degree is preferred.
• We require the ability to travel extensively, with about 75% travel across the assigned region, including daily driving, occasional overnight stays, and possible air or train travel.
• We need the ability to work in office, home office, remote, and hospital or healthcare settings while meeting vendor credentialing requirements.
• We require flexibility to work non-standard hours, overtime, weekends, and on-call rotations as needed.
• You must be able to wear all required personal protective equipment.

• We provide onsite and remote technical support, responding quickly to customer issues and limiting disruption to clinical and operational workflows.
• We diagnose and resolve system, network, and application problems using structured troubleshooting methods.
• We support the full lifecycle of patient monitoring and IT infrastructure solutions, including installation, configuration, integration, and testing.
• We assess customer environments and requirements to ensure solutions are implemented effectively and optimized for long-term performance.
• We use approved tools, test equipment, and diagnostic techniques to troubleshoot technical challenges and identify root causes.
• We implement durable fixes that improve stability and reduce repeat issues.
• We maintain clear, accurate documentation of configurations, troubleshooting steps, and support procedures.
• We follow configuration management and version control practices to support consistency, knowledge sharing, and future scalability.
• We collaborate with senior engineers, clinical partners, sales, and service teams to deliver strong outcomes.
• We continue building technical expertise and contribute to knowledge-sharing and service improvement efforts.
