About the Role
The EDI Engineer will play a crucial role in designing, building, and maintaining Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) integrations that connect our systems with trading partners. The successful candidate will possess a strong understanding of EDI standards (X12, EDIFACT), transaction sets, and communication protocols (AS2, SFTP, VAN), along with hands‑on experience mapping, testing, and troubleshooting EDI transactions. This role requires the ability to collaborate with both internal engineering teams and external trading partners to develop scalable integration solutions, resolve technical issues, and ensure reliable, accurate data exchange across the transaction lifecycle.
Whatyou need to have:
- Proven experience in EDI onboarding and designing, building, and supporting EDI integrations in a production environment
- Strong working knowledge of EDI standards (X12, EDIFACT) and core transaction sets (e.g., 204, 990, 214, 210)
- Hands‑on experience with EDI integration platforms (e.g., Orderful, Sterling, SPS Commerce, TIE Kinetix, or similar) and communication protocols (AS2, SFTP, VAN)
- Experience integrating EDI with ERP and WMS systems (e.g., Net Suite, SAP, Celigo, High Jump, or comparable platforms)
- Ability to build, test, and troubleshoot EDI maps and resolve transaction errors across trading partner connections
- Experience with SFTP onboarding and integration for carriers, including credential setup, connection testing, and troubleshooting file transfer issues
- Strong analytical and debugging skills, with the ability to trace data issues across multiple systems and interfaces
- Experience producing technical documentation, including mapping specs and process/troubleshooting guides
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with both internal engineering teams and external trading partners
- Experience with API testing tools (e.g., Postman) for validating integrations and troubleshooting EDI/API-based data exchanges
- Familiarity with programming languages (e.g., Python) and scripting or query languages (e.g., SQL) a plus for data validation and reporting
What is Preferred:
- Logistics industry experience
- Familiar with Orderful, Salesforce, Gsuite, and TMS applications
