Senior Technical Writer — Platform Documentation

Full-time

We need a technical writer who can take a protocol specification written by our cryptographer and turn it into documentation that a customer's IT administrator can implement. Our documentation is the bridge between deeply technical infrastructure and the people who need to operate it — and it needs to be excellent.

• — Author and maintain platform documentation: API reference, integration guides, deployment runbooks, troubleshooting guides
• — Work directly with engineering and security teams to extract technical detail and translate it into clear, accurate prose
• — Establish documentation standards: style guide, terminology consistency, information architecture, review process
• — Build and maintain the documentation site:
  MkDocs/Material, content organization, search optimization, contribution workflow
• — Create diagrams and architecture illustrations for complex system interactions
• — Review documentation contributions from engineering — enforce clarity, accuracy, and consistency
• — Manage documentation for compliance audits: evidence of documented procedures, version control, change tracking

• — 5+ years of technical writing for developer- or administrator-facing documentation
• — Experience with docs-as-code workflow:
  Markdown, git, static site generators (MkDocs, Docusaurus, Sphinx), CI/CD for documentation builds
• — Excellent written English — clarity and precision are non-negotiable
• — Experience working directly with engineering teams in a remote, async-first environment

• — Experience documenting security products, cryptographic protocols, or enterprise infrastructure
• — Familiarity with OpenAPI/Swagger specification and API documentation tools
• — Knowledge of Linux/Windows system administration at a conceptual level
• — Experience building documentation for SOC 2 or ISO 27001 audit evidence
