Corporate Intern – Economist

• Participate in an 11-week summer internship with Walmart's Economics team
• Work on a meaningful project or a component of a full-time project
• Partner with business and technology teams in the Home Office
• Design and analyze experiments
• Guide decision-making by evaluating the impact of potential changes
• Perform causal inference using econometrics and statistics
• Frame and evaluate business trade-offs under uncertainty
• Apply behavioral economics to inform user experience design
• Support projects involving pricing, membership and subscriptions, sustainability, and marketplace development
• Network with industry experts and develop professional skills

• Must be actively enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program
• Expected graduation date between December 2027 and August 2028
• Passion for economics or experience assisting with academic research
• Knowledge of experimentation and causal inference methods
• Experience analyzing large datasets is a plus, ideally coding in SQL, R, or Python
• Curiosity and self-starter mindset
• Collaborative approach
• Interest in solving hard problems
• Must not require sponsorship from Walmart for authorization to work now or in the future

Demonstrates strong analytical capabilities in economics, including causal inference and experimentation methods, while effectively collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive impactful business decisions.
