What Your Job Will Be Like:

As a Computer Hardware Support Technologist, you'll play a vital role in sustaining the IT backbone of Sandia's Nuclear Deterrence Modernization Programs. Your work will directly enable secure, efficient operations for classified and unclassified systems, ensuring our workforce has the tools and support to succeed.

Day-to-Day Impact:

Technical Support & Operations:

Provide hands-on hardware/software troubleshooting for the New Mexico Based Nuclear Deterrence Organizations.

Manage procurement, setups, and upgrades for hardware/software systems.

Support Operational Technology Zone (OTZ) networks for real-time data access.

Security & Compliance:

Assist with audit preparations and ensure property accountability.

Provide classified system reapplication support and kiosk maintenance.

Partner with testers and security teams to address IT needs (e.g., IT upgrades, JIT requests).

Salary Range:

$55,500 - $105,400

* Salary range is estimated, and actual salary will be determined after consideration of the selected candidate's experience and qualifications, and application of any approved geographic salary differential.

Qualifications We Require:

High school diploma or equivalent

Experience with IT hardware installation/troubleshooting (e.g., workstations, laptops, peripherals).

Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE Q-level security clearance.

Qualifications We Desire:

Knowledge of Windows systems administration (e.g., Active Directory, Group Policy, or scripting).

Familiarity with software governance tools (e.g., patch management, license tracking, or compliance frameworks).

Awareness of cybersecurity best practices (e.g., endpoint protection, vulnerability scanning).

Understanding of classified system requirements (e.g., reapplication processes, audit support).

Ability to translate technical details for non-technical stakeholders.

Comfort working in dynamic environments (e.g., supporting testers, security teams, or rapid IT upgrades).

Passion for national security and supporting critical infrastructure.

Commitment to equity and inclusion in teamwork and problem-solving.

CompTIA or Microsoft Azure certifications

Active DOE Q-level or equivalent security clearance

About Our Team:

The Data Analytics and Information Technology organization supports the Nuclear Deterrence Modernization Programs. The Data Analytics Team is responsible for developing, maintaining, and coordinating tool development to ensure accurate data analysis is completed on qualification and certification test data for the W80-4, W87-1, and emerging Nuclear Weapon Programs, using…
