About AI Response Evaluation

AI training is the human work behind modern artificial intelligence. Contributors review model outputs, assess quality, and provide structured feedback so AI systems can become more accurate, helpful, and reliable.

In response evaluation projects, careful human judgment helps models understand whether an answer is relevant, accurate, useful, and appropriate for a specific user or context.

  • Work remotely with a computer and internet connection
  • Help shape how advanced AI systems respond to people
  • Use analytical judgment and written feedback rather than specialized AI experience
The Role

Open Train is seeking a Personalized AI Response Evaluation Rater to support AI training focused on personalized responses. You will review AI-generated answers and personalized retrieval prompts, apply project guidelines, and document evidence-based judgments.

This is a remote contractor engagement for contributors based in the United States. The engagement may last up to 16 weeks and requires at least four hours per day, up to 40 hours per week, including four hours of overlap with Pacific Time. Compensation is not disclosed.

  • Engagement type:
    Contractor and part time
  • Location:

    United States
  • Experience level:
    Entry level
  • Expected commitment: 20 or more hours per week
  • Schedule:

At least four hours per day, up to 40 hours per week
  • Pacific Time overlap:
    Four hours required
  • Languages:

    English
What You'll Do

You will evaluate personalized model outputs and provide consistent, detailed feedback. Your reviews will help identify where an AI response succeeds or fails in meeting a user's needs.

The work involves repeated remote review tasks that require consistency, data privacy, confidentiality, and careful application of evaluation criteria.

  • Review personalized responses for relevance, accuracy, helpfulness, and quality
  • Identify incorrect personalization and unsupported assumptions
  • Flag irrelevant recommendations and other inconsistencies
  • Compare alternative responses
  • Assess the overall user experience
  • Apply detailed project guidelines consistently
  • Write structured, evidence-based evaluation feedback
  • Maintain quality, privacy, and confidentiality throughout the work
Requirements

A bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience in any field is required. Prior experience in AI evaluation, data annotation, content review, quality assurance, or a related analytical role is helpful but not required.

The strongest candidates can review nuanced responses objectively, explain their reasoning clearly, and work independently while following detailed instructions.

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience in any field
  • Strong analytical judgment when assessing nuanced AI responses
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Clear written communication for structured evaluation feedback
  • Ability to identify incorrect personalization, unsupported assumptions, and irrelevant recommendations
  • Ability to follow detailed instructions and apply criteria consistently
  • Comfort working independently on remote review tasks
  • Reliable computer and internet connection
  • Active use of connected productivity or consumer applications with sufficient account history
Who Should Apply

This opportunity may suit careful readers, analytical thinkers, and strong communicators who want to enter the AI training industry. You do not need previous AI training experience, but you should be comfortable making nuanced judgments and supporting them with clear written explanations.

Experience with content review, quality assurance, annotation, or other detail-focused analytical work can be useful, though it is not required.

  • People who notice subtle differences in quality and relevance
  • Strong independent workers who can follow a structured process
  • Clear writers who can explain why a response succeeds or falls short
  • US-based contributors seeking remote, part-time contractor work
