Responsibilities- Serve as first line of defense regarding cybersecurity operations, including monitoring various security tools, configuring alerts based on agreed thresholds, and escalating suspicious activity to department management.
- Serve as primary owner of corporate SIEM to include implementation of approved changes, and application of upgrades and/or patches as appropriate.
- Assist with identifying & access management functions and performing entitlement reviews.
- Perform regularly scheduled vulnerability scans and patch management activities.
- Operate and maintain corporate endpoint protection solution.
- Provide security and compliance subject matter expertise to internal and external customers as required.
- Stay updated on cybersecurity trends and news, including new vulnerabilities and risks related to company hardware, operating systems, and software.
- Serve as "on call" security representative as required.
- A technical 4‑year degree in computer science, computer information systems, or engineering is recommended but substantial experience can be substituted.
- Intermediate knowledge of TCP/IP, routers, switches, firewalls, IDS/IPS and VPNs.
- Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Azure – Entra , Defender, Key Vault, Sentinel, Purview.
- Intermediate knowledge of vulnerability scanning and patch management practices.
- Demonstrable knowledge of security information and event management (SIEM) systems and centralized logging systems – Sumo Logic, Splunk, ELK Stack.
- Understanding of Windows, Mac, and Linux (Ubuntu) OS hardening using Minimum Baseline Standards.
- Knowledge of general security operational procedures and processes – Sec Ops.
- 5 or more years cybersecurity experience.
- Experience with application security – DAST, SAST, SCA, Web App Firewalls.
- Exposure to compliance frameworks: HIPAA/HITECH, PCI‑DSS, ISO 27000, SOC 2, and the NIST CSF.
- Exposure to data privacy regulations: CCPA, EU GDPR.
- Exposure to Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) tools.
- Proficiency with using a PC, VPN, MS Office, Atlassian Confluence & Jira.
