Company Overview:

ASR Health Benefits, based in Grand Rapids, MI, is a fast-growing third-party administrator of health plans, including medical, dental, vision, short-term disability, Section 125 plans, and consumer-directed health plans. We administer these health plans through dedicated client service teams, consisting of staff members from each department at ASR who work together to meet our clients’ needs.

Position Overview:

The TPA Reporting & Quality Analyst acts as the operational reporting anchor for our Analytics team. This position is responsible for the end-to-end execution, rigorous quality assurance, and timely delivery of plan performance reporting to our self-funded client accounts, broker partners, and internal operations.

The primary mission of this role is to absorb and own day-to-day reporting workflows—including our current platform migration from Cedar Gate to Artemis—ensuring absolute data integrity and strict adherence to turnaround timelines. By managing these daily operational and quality control demands, the analyst enables analytics leadership to focus on strategic platform architecture, building infrastructure, and driving organizational training initiatives.

Work Environment:This is a remote position with the opportunity to work in-office or a combination of both, based on task requirements and business needs. On-site presence will be required for specific projects or assignments.

Key Responsibilities:

SLA & Timeline Management: Maintain, automate, and own the distribution schedule for all standard client packages, ensuring all monthly and quarterly reporting packages are finalized and delivered within 5 to 10 business days of month-end data availability.

Rigorous Quality Control (QA): Develop and execute strict data validation and quality check protocols to audit and cross-check all report outputs before delivery; ensure zero variance between underlying data and customer-facing reports.

Migration Execution & Audit: Support the technical migration from Cedar Gate to Artemis by mapping and validating underlying healthcare data models, replicating historic client reporting structures, and performing backend data verification in SSMS to guarantee perfect data parity between systems.

Database Querying (SSMS): Write and utilize optimized SQL queries within SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS) to navigate complex relational databases, joining and manipulating diverse schemas across medical, pharmacy, and eligibility datasets.

Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner directly with the Account Management team, client services, and brokers to capture ad-hoc data requests, manage expectations, and clearly communicate reporting delivery timelines.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Analytics, Finance, Healthcare Administration, Computer Science, or a related quantitative field.

Industry

Experience:

2+ years of healthcare data analytics or reporting experience, specifically within a TPA, health insurance carrier, or benefit brokerage environment.

Technical Stack & Data

Competency:

Proficient SQL skills with hands‑on experience using SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS) for data verification and querying.

Solid understanding of relational data models and healthcare schemas, specifically the relationship between membership eligibility tables, claims headers/lines, provider networks, and third‑party data feeds.

Experience with, or the technical agility to rapidly adopt, Artemis and legacy platforms like Cedar Gate.

Core Competencies:

High attention to detail with a proven track record in data validation and quality assurance.

Exceptional time management and organization skills necessary to meet strict 5–10 business day turnarounds under monthly operational pressure.

Strong collaborative communication style to interface effectively with client‑facing account teams.
