We are seeking an experimentalist with demonstrated publication record or relevant experience to join the Emerging Computing Hardware team. You will contribute to research areas that address meaningful problems and applications in advanced computing technologies such as quantum computing, neuromorphic computing, machine learning, artificial intelligence, and other emerging methods. We seek candidates capable of discovering codesigned solutions where materials and integrated systems research is motivated by their ability to enable novel and scalable solutions.
You will be part of a much broader Advanced Computing program in the DOE National Laboratories complex and will have an opportunity to engage with researchers and teams across both government and industry.
On any given day, you may be called on to:
- Develop an understanding of quantum device dynamics, small circuits based on those devices, or architectures incorporating a range of devices.
- Develop and implement novel control systems and measurements for quantum devices.
- Design and analyze nano‑scale and micro‑scale quantum devices
- Collaborate within Sandia and across the external R&D community in Quantum Information Science (QIS) and other emerging computing fields.
Due to the nature of the work, the selected applicant must be able to work onsite.
Salary Range$117,500 - $235,700
