Establish a scalable governance, content management, and information architecture framework across a Microsoft 365 environment with multiple SharePoint Team sites.

We are seeking an experienced SharePoint Online Architect and ECM Strategist to assess the current SharePoint landscape and define the target strategy for site governance, content organization, metadata, search, security, lifecycle management, and records retention.

The role will also develop an IT4IT-aligned strategy and operating model describing how SharePoint and enterprise content services should be governed, delivered, supported, measured, and continuously improved.

This is primarily a strategy and architecture role, distinct from routine SharePoint tenant administration and operational support.

• Assess and classify existing SharePoint Team sites, content structures, ownership, permissions, usage, and governance risks.
• Define SharePoint governance covering site creation, naming standards, ownership, access, lifecycle, archival, and decommissioning.
• Design the target SharePoint architecture, including hub sites, Team sites, Communication sites, templates, and provisioning standards.
• Develop the enterprise Information Architecture, including taxonomy, term store, content types, metadata, navigation, and search.
• Define an ECM strategy covering content classification, versioning, retention, records management, archiving, disposition, and legacy-content remediation.
• Establish security and permission design aligned with Microsoft Entra , least-privilege principles, sensitivity labels, and data protection requirements.
• Define integration patterns across SharePoint Online, Microsoft Teams, One Drive, Microsoft Purview, Power Platform, and related Microsoft 365 services.
• Develop an IT4IT-aligned service strategy, operating model, governance framework, capability roadmap, service value streams, KPIs, and continuous-improvement approach.
• Produce architecture standards, governance policies, decision principles, reference models, implementation roadmaps, and site-owner playbooks.
• Facilitate workshops and align business, IT, security, compliance, records management, and content-owner stakeholders.

• Strong hands-on architecture experience with SharePoint Online and Microsoft 365.
• Proven experience establishing governance for large environments with multiple Team sites and business units.
• Expertise in Enterprise Content Management strategy, content services, and operating models.
• Strong Information Architecture skills covering taxonomy, metadata, Managed Term Store, content types, site columns, navigation, and search findability.
• Experience with hub architecture, Team sites, Communication sites, templates, and governed provisioning patterns.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Teams, One Drive, Microsoft Purview, Power Platform, and Microsoft Entra .
• Experience defining content lifecycle, retention, archiving, records management, and disposition strategies.
• Ability to develop IT4IT strategy, service value streams, governance models, capability roadmaps, KPIs, and operating procedures.
• Strong architecture documentation skills, including strategy papers, governance playbooks, roadmaps, reference architectures, and executive presentations.
• Excellent consulting, stakeholder management, workshop facilitation, and executive communication skills.

• 10+ years of experience in SharePoint, ECM, content services, Microsoft 365 architecture, or a comparable enterprise content role.
• Experience leading SharePoint governance or modernization programs across multiple business units.
• Knowledge of Microsoft 365 compliance, information protection, retention, and data loss prevention concepts.
• Experience with migration and content-mapping strategies for legacy SharePoint sites, file shares, or Teams-generated content.
• Familiarity with IT4IT, ITIL, COBIT, TOGAF, or similar enterprise and service-management frameworks.
• Relevant Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Azure, information-governance, or enterprise-architecture certifications are preferred.
