Job DescriptionMicrochip Technology Inc. is seeking a Desktop Support professional for an onsite position based in Chandler, AZ. The selected candidate will be responsible for a broad range of Tier‑2 desktop support activities, ensuring timely resolution of end‑user IT issues. This role involves close collaboration with Tier‑1 and Tier‑3 IT teams to deliver effective technical support. The position is primarily based at the Chandler facility and will also include providing both remote and onsite desktop support services to the Tempe facility.
Requirements/QualificationsResponsibilities
- Provide day-to-day technical support for internal desktop hardware and software systems, as well as network, basic server, and storage infrastructure supporting more than 600 users.
- Install, configure, and troubleshoot Windows XP, 7, 10, and 11 operating systems, workstations, smartphones, and network equipment within a heterogeneous environment.
- Operate and maintain the company’s internal data communication systems across multiple platforms and protocols, including VoIP technologies.
- Manage user and computer objects within Active Directory.
- Perform Windows imaging for both break-fix scenarios and deployment of new computer equipment.
- Analyze, install, modify, and support operating systems, database applications, and utility software.
- Provide support and troubleshooting for basic Unix/Linux requests and issues.
- Assist the Information Services Support Manager in standardizing organizational processes, procedures, and policies.
- Participate in the development and implementation of IT and infrastructure-related projects as needed.
- Deliver remote technical support for a limited number of remote or home-based users.
Travel to other Microchip facilities across North America may be required.
Qualifications/Requirements- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or an equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
- Minimum of two years of experience in an IT support environment.
- Excellent customer service, interpersonal, and communication skills required.
- Proven ability to work effectively within a collaborative team environment.
- Strong hands‑on experience supporting Windows OS, Active Directory, and Office 365 within a heterogeneous environment.
