Harris Technologies is looking for a Field Technician for the Company’s Field Services organization supporting the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). This role will be responsible for field support in DC and Atlanta airspaces. Field technician will support FAA contracts FTI, ADSB, DCNS and any other FSG programs.
- Good working knowledge of cable connectors and replacement, such as RJ-11, RJ-45, DB-25, V.35, RS-449
- Have an excellent working knowledge of fiber, working knowledge of Multiplexes, Network topology, Frame Relay, Fractional T-1, SONET Network Technology, ATM, Private Line, Voice and Data applications
- Good working knowledge of power testing, AC and DC including 3 Phase AC. Familiar with configuration and operation of the 24
VDC & 48 VDC power supplies. - Experience with network and circuit testing with T1 Testing Specifications, DS3 Testing, Digital Testing (BERT), and Analog VG Testing within Bell Core Standards.
- Working knowledge and usage of various network test equipment: JDSU HST, Ameritech AM5XT, Sage 935, Digital Oscilloscope, Halcyon 704A, Para-scope or other T1/DS3 Test sets.
- IP Based knowledge with experience configuring routers and switches
- Experience installing equipment racks (wallmount, raised floors, concrete, etc.)
- Travel to FAA site locations within a 3 hour drive from Charlotte NC area
- Candidate must be able to obtain FAA Security Clearance from Public Trust background investigation
- Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 6 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience.
- Possess and maintain a valid Driver’s License, and a satisfactory driving record, as conditions of initial (and continued) employment.
- Network+, CCNA, CCNP, CCNA Wireless, A+
- Ability to work from home, in an on-call status.
- Capable of lifting 70 pounds
- Capable of utilizing ladders, and step stools, to reach heights of approx. 10 feet
- Willingness and/or ability to work outside regularly scheduled hours to meet operational needs and to respond to after-hours emergency calls as required.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Ability to work in high stress and visibility environment
- Willing to travel (up to 100% of the time) to remote sites within a 3hour drive circle of base location. Technicians may be asked to travel outside of their assigned region, as needed.
In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in California, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Washington, and the Greater D.C. area, Denver, or NYC areas is $30.04/hr - $56.00/hr the salary range for this role in Colorado state, Hawaii, Illinois, Maine, Maryland, Minnesota, New York state, Cleveland Ohio, Vermont and Virginia is $26.20/hr - $48.79/hr this is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors…
