About the RoleWe are seeking an IT Support Specialist to provide technical support for end-user hardware and software across various business units. Operating under general supervision, the successful candidate will apply their professional expertise and sound judgment to ensure timely and effective resolution of technical issues. This is a hands‑on, in‑person role based in the East Syracuse, NY area and does not offer remote work flexibility.
Key Responsibilities- Respond promptly to support tickets and user inquiries via the internal helpdesk system
- Manage procurement, configuration, maintenance, and repair of end-user devices including:
- Desktop and laptop computers, tablets, and peripherals
- POS (Point of Sale) systems
- Mobile handheld devices, printers, phones, and hotspot units
- Maintain equipment inventory and ensure timely delivery for technology requests
- Support deployment and maintenance of enterprise applications
- Configure and troubleshoot VPNs, virtual phone systems, and remote work technologies
- Ensure compliance with IT standards around:
- Asset management
- Encryption protocols
- System/software patching
- Analyze system data to verify adherence to organizational standards
- Create and maintain documentation for IT processes and configurations
- Use scripting tools to deploy updates and configurations across systems
- Participate in an on‑call rotation for after‑hours technical support
- Complete all required training and certifications
- Perform additional duties as assigned
- Associate’s degree or higher in a technology-related field
- Minimum of 1 year of experience supporting computer systems and related technologies
- Proficiency with Windows-based systems, networking, VPNs, mobile device support, and enterprise software
- Experience with system scripting and configuration tools
- Strong problem‑solving and troubleshooting abilities
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Organized and detail‑oriented
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Must pass a drug screening
- Subject to ongoing background and compliance checks
- Valid driver’s license required
