WIN Waste Innovations is seeking a cybersecurity engineer with strong analytical skills and a solid understanding of cybersecurity practices. The ideal candidate will demonstrate exceptional attention to detail, strong problem-solving abilities, comfort working under pressure, and the ability to meet tight deadlines.
This role requires both independent and collaborative work across systems and cloud administration, infrastructure design, and project management. A successful cybersecurity engineer will have a strong understanding of technology infrastructure, endpoint devices, including vulnerability management, incident response, and security audits. Top candidates will be comfortable working with diverse technologies, resolving security issues, and troubleshooting across complex environments.
Responsibilities- Manage, monitor, plan, implement, and improve security measures that protect the organization’s data, systems, and networks.
- Adhere to the company's IT and cybersecurity policies and procedures.
- Ensure administrative, physical, and technical safeguards protect company information assets from internal and external threats.
- Troubleshoot security, endpoint, network, and system issues.
- Serve as the subject matter expert for the SIEM platform.
- Develop and maintain security incident response and vulnerability management processes.
- Respond to system and network security incidents and breaches.
- Protect organizational data and infrastructure by enabling appropriate security controls.
- Test systems and networks to identify vulnerabilities.
- Perform daily administration, reporting, and communications with relevant departments.
- Support cybersecurity policy frameworks, including CIS and PCI.
- Manage the security managed service provider and related tasks.
- Manage vulnerability remediation efforts.
- Thoroughly document systems, configurations, and procedures, including clear guidance for users and IT support.
- Evaluate, test, and implement emerging technologies that strengthen Microsoft 365 and enterprise systems.
- Collaborate with vendors, internal teams, and business stakeholders to deliver reliable, scalable IT services.
- Provide after-hours support and travel to company facilities as needed.
- Work primarily on-site to support users and systems, with limited flexibility for remote work as appropriate.
- Experience with endpoint security, security awareness training platforms, cloud security and logging, identity management services, and supporting infrastructure.
- Ability to navigate and operate within an IT ticketing and support request system
- Ability to support end users and system administration
- Ability to perform effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong awareness of current cybersecurity trends.
- Degree in computer science, information technology, systems engineering, or a related field.
- Two to three years of experience in a cybersecurity or security-focused role.
- Disciplined self-starter who can complete projects and tasks with minimal direction, guidance, or oversight.
- Collaborative team player who communicates effectively with clients and peers in a positive, constructive manner.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks at once.
- Ability to independently prioritize work and manage competing responsibilities.
- Ability to stay effective under pressure in a fast-paced environment while prioritizing work appropriately.
