Job Description & How to Apply Below

Optivate is a leading provider of healthcare technology software solutions purpose-built for ophthalmologists and eye care specialists. The company's solutions, which include EMR, practice management, patient engagement, image management, and RCM and billing services are designed to streamline clinical documentation workflows and improve daily practice efficiencies for eye care professionals.

Position Summary

The Software Quality Assurance Analyst validates that our releases work the way clinicians, staff, and administrative teams need them to. You will test new features, regression-test existing functionality, investigate and document defects, and partner with development, product, and client-facing teams to resolve issues before they reach a practice. Because our software supports live clinical and surgical workflows, the quality bar is high and the details matter.

This role suits someone methodical, curious, and comfortable owning their own workload. You will be handed problems rather than checklists, and you will be expected to dig into them, ask good questions, and explain what you find clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, execute, and maintain test cases and test plans for new features, enhancements, and defect fixes across the product suite.
  • Perform functional, regression, integration, and user acceptance testing on desktop, web, and mobile applications.
  • Investigate reported defects, reproduce issues, identify root cause where possible, and document findings with clear, reproducible steps.
  • Use SQL to validate data integrity, verify expected system behavior, and support defect investigation.
  • Track testing activity, defects, and results in Azure Dev Ops or comparable test management tooling.
  • Partner with developers, product managers, implementation, and support teams throughout the development cycle, consulting directly with clients to clarify reported issues and confirm resolution.
  • Contribute to improving QA processes, documentation, and testing standards.
  • Manage competing priorities and adapt to shifting release schedules.
Required Qualifications
  • Associate's degree in quality assurance, information systems, or equivalent training; high school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Two (2) years of experience in quality assurance and software testing.
  • Working knowledge of databases and SQL.
  • Experience with Azure Dev Ops or a comparable software testing platform.
  • Strong critical thinking and analytical skills, with excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Proven ability to deliver excellent customer service and conduct thorough investigations with tact.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal direction, managing workload, priorities, and testing processes efficiently.
  • Flexibility and adaptability, with enthusiasm for working in a constantly changing environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in information systems, computer science, or engineering.
  • Industry-recognized software testing certifications.
  • Experience with EMR/EHR systems.
  • 3+ years of experience as a software QA tester, including automation testing frameworks and writing and maintaining test scripts.
  • Experience testing .NET desktop, mobile, and web-based applications.
  • Experience with API testing and tools such as Postman.
  • Experience with SQL Server.
  • Experience with W3C/ADA accessibility testing.
  • Knowledge of Agile methodology.
What We Offer
  • Remote work model with flexibility and work-life balance
  • Comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, vision, and 401(k)
  • Generous paid time off and holiday schedule
  • Opportunity to grow within a mission-driven and innovative healthcare tech company
