Senior Data Visualization Consultant, Power BI

• Work with all levels of staff, management, stakeholders, and vendors

• Turn data into stories by visualizing complex data in an intuitive and user-friendly way

• Gather requirements, prototype designs, iterate based on client feedback, and develop final visual solutions

• Anticipate internal and external business challenges, including regulations, and recommend processes and product or service enhancements

• Mentor junior Data Visualization consultants on Clarkston’s analytics team

• Assist in defining and managing client solutions

• Travel to client sites as required, averaging 30–50%

• Work from a home office when not traveling

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in a Power BI data visualization role
• Ability to use complex expressions to calculate, group, filter, and format custom dashboards/reports
• Knowledge of best practices for visual flow, interactivity, and drilldown between graphics
• Background in design principles for UI
• Expertise in designing and delivering enterprise Power BI analytics solutions, including dashboards, reports, and semantic models, aligned to business objectives and user needs
• Strong understanding of data modeling concepts and experience working with relational data sources using SQL or equivalent query languages
• Ability to identify the needs of various audiences and tailor design and UI approaches to executive, analyst, and information-consumer groups
• Strong grasp of product ionizing solutions, including testing, administration, and security
• Demonstrated capability in underlying data models, including relational databases and joins
• Forward-thinking technical expertise in current and emerging technologies, trends, and practices
• 4-year degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or an equivalent discipline
• Willingness to travel an estimated 30–50%
