We are seeking a Security Engineering Intern to join our team, where you'll gain hands‑on experience in a large enterprise cybersecurity program in areas such as vulnerability management, endpoint security, threat detection, security controls, and emerging areas such as AI security.

CoStar Group’s Security Engineering internship program provides hands‑on experience through three work streams:

Each intern is paired with a dedicated mentor to support technical development, career growth, and day‑to‑day learning throughout the program. This internship is designed to provide exposure to the types of work performed by Security Engineers and help prepare students for future careers in cybersecurity.

This position is located in Richmond, VA and offers a schedule of Monday to Thursday in office and the option to work from home on Friday.

• Vulnerability scanning and vulnerability management tools
• Endpoint security technologies
• Security monitoring and incident response processes
• Security tool integrations and automation
• Identity and access management concepts
• Cloud and infrastructure security concepts
• Scripting and automation using Python, Power Shell, Bash, or similar technologies
• AI security and emerging cybersecurity technologies

• Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree from an accredited, not-for-profit university or college in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a comparable major.
• Must be planning to return to school following the completion of the Summer 2027 internship.
• Must have an expected graduation date of December 2027 - June 2028.
• Minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA.
• Demonstrated interest in cybersecurity through personal endeavors outside of undergraduate degree program
• Available to participate in the full 10‑week summer internship program and commit to a 40‑hour work week throughout the internship.
• Coursework, project, internship, research, or work experience related to cybersecurity, networking, operating systems, cloud computing, scripting, automation, system administration, or comparable technical disciplines.
• Ability to communicate technical information clearly in written and verbal formats.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem‑solving skills.
