Overview

Senior Data Engineer (Remote or Hybrid options available) at Walgreens Boots Alliance. This role supports the company’s data, analytics, and data science initiatives by building and maintaining large-scale data pipelines and data structures to enable advanced analytics and model development. The position may be remote or hybrid depending on team needs.

The Senior Data Engineer builds and maintains big data pipelines to support analytics and data science solutions. The role identifies valuable internal and external data and collaborates with data scientists to define data for the design, development, and deployment of new solutions that support strategic business priorities.

• Develop software that processes, stores and serves data for use by others.
• Design and maintain large-scale data structures and pipelines to organize, collect and standardize data for insights and reporting.
• Write ETL (Extract / Transform / Load) processes, design database systems and develop tools for real-time and offline analytics.
• Develop and maintain optimal data pipelines into the advanced analytics platform, including data flows, procedures, and schedules; ensure pipelines are scalable, repeatable and secure.
• Troubleshoot software and processes for data consistency and integrity; integrate data from multiple sources while meeting data quality and accessibility standards.
• Anticipate and prevent problems and roadblocks; collaborate with internal and external peers and managers to exchange complex information related to areas of specialization.
• Collaborate with data scientists to prepare data for model development.
