* The Senior Business Intelligence Engineer describes the tools, technologies, applications, and practices used to collect, integrate, analyze, and transform data into insightful and actionable business information. This position is a strategic analytics contributor responsible for developing complex, cross-functional reporting from conception through delivery in partnership with stakeholders to ensure insightful solutions align with organizational objectives and operational priorities. The ideal candidate demonstrates mature judgment, strong governance discipline, and ability to lead with ambition and scale.

The Senior Business Intelligence Engineer role works assignments involving moderately complex to complex issues where the analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors.

The Senior Business Intelligence Engineer describes the tools, technologies, applications and practices used to collect, integrate, analyze, and present an organization's raw data to create insightful and actionable business information.

** Key Responsibilities*
* + Design and maintain BI dashboards and analytic solutions from end-to-end

+ Partner with leaders to define KPIs and reporting that support business operations and strategy

+ Ensure data accuracy, auditability, and traceability for regulatory reporting

+ Optimize SQL queries and BI models for large-scale datasets

+ Implement data governance standards including metric definitions and documentation

+ Improve delivery processes, tools, and metrics to increase efficiency

+ Serve as a trusted advisor to leaders, enabling informed decision-making through clear, data-driven communication and reporting

* ** Required Qualifications*
* + Minimum 5 years of experience leading and guiding cross-functional projects with other business teams to solve complex company initiatives

+ Minimum 3 years of SQL experience

+ Minimum 3 years of experience with Power BI or similar visualization tool

+ Experience utilizing Python

+ Experience creating analytics solutions for various healthcare sectors

+ Experience analyzing data to solve a wide variety of business problems and create data visualizations that drive strategic direction

+ Proficiency in verbal and written communication to senior and executive leadership

** Work-At-Home Requirements*
* + At minimum, a download speed of 25 mbps and an upload speed of 10 mbps is recommended; wireless, wired cable or DSL connection is suggested

+ Satellite, cellular and microwave connection can be used only if approved by leadership

+ Associates who live and work from Home in the state of California, Illinois, Montana, or South Dakota will be provided a bi-weekly payment for their internet expense.

+ Humana will provide Home or Hybrid Home/Office associates with telephone equipment appropriate to meet the business requirements for their position/job.

+ Work from a dedicated space lacking ongoing interruptions to protect member PHI / HIPAA information

** Preferred Qualifications*
* + Undergraduate degree

+ Minimum 2 years of SSIS experience or similar ETL tools

+ Minimum 1 year of experience developing automations for business processes using scripting languages

+ Advanced experience working with big and complex data sets within large organizations

+ Experience working with technology solutions such as Microsoft Power Apps/Power Automate

+ Expertise in data mining, forecasting, simulation, and/or predictive modeling

+ Databricks and Synapse Analytics experience
