UNC Chapel Hill is hiring a UTS - Temporary Web Designer. The role involves completing development, implementing content and design updates, troubleshooting, and preparing a new Word Press office website for launch while collaborating with staff to ensure usability and accessibility.
Highlights- Complete development and launch a new office website built in Word Press.
- Implement remaining content and design updates and troubleshoot website issues.
- Work primarily with Word Press, HTML, CSS, and possibly Markdown and other markup languages.
- Collaborate with OIRPA staff to meet website needs and ensure a consistent, accessible user experience.
- Requires a 4-year degree in a related field and proven experience in web design.
- Strong skills in Word Press website design and development, HTML, and CSS are mandatory.
- Familiarity with Gutenberg editor, Word Press themes, plugins, and digital accessibility standards like WCAG 2.1 is important.
- Beneficial to have knowledge of Markdown, Git-based version control systems, command-line environments, APIs, and programming languages such as Python or JavaScript.
- Full-time temporary position with an hourly rate of $50, lasting 1 to 6 months.
- Work schedule starts full-time and transitions to part-time, with remote work available.
