- Serve as SAFe Agile Scrum Master for one or more Agile teams delivering AI-enabled information systems in a SAFe Agile environment.
- Facilitate Agile ceremonies including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, backlog refinement, sprint reviews, retrospectives, and other team synchronization activities.
- Support Program Increment (PI) Planning, iteration execution, dependency coordination, and alignment with broader program objectives.
- Partner closely with Product Owners, Release Train Engineers, technical leads, and stakeholders to promote transparency, execution discipline, and delivery predictability.
- Help ensure Agile practices are applied consistently and effectively across the team in alignment with SAFe principles and organizational delivery standards.
- Enable delivery of AI-enabled information systems supporting capabilities such as document understanding, semantic search, summarization, recommendation, intelligent automation, conversational experiences, and decision-support tools.
- Help teams manage unique delivery considerations of AI-enabled systems, including experimentation, iterative model improvement, data dependencies, integration readiness, and validation of AI outputs.
- Coordinate across business, engineering, data science, testing, and operations teams to support practical, usable, and supportable AI feature delivery.
- Promote iterative delivery approaches that balance speed, quality, trust, governance, and technical feasibility.
- Proactively identify, track, escalated, and resolve impediments impacting team delivery, quality, or velocity.
- Coach teams on Agile best practices, collaboration, self-organization, estimation, work management, and continuous improvement.
- Foster an environment of accountability, focus, transparency, and continuous learning.
- Use Agile metrics and team insights to identify improvement opportunities.
- Support coordination of dependencies, risks, and integration points across multiple teams and stakeholders.
- Facilitate communication between technical and non-technical stakeholders for alignment on scope, progress, and risks.
- Contribute to release readiness and support the transition of capabilities into testing, deployment, and operations.
- Support quality, governance, and responsible delivery practices, including addressing operational controls such as security and compliance.
- Coach team members and stakeholders on SAFe Agile values, Scrum practices, and effective delivery behaviors.
- Facilitate retrospectives that lead to actionable improvements and measurable team progress.
- Support Agile maturity across the organization by sharing best practices and insights.
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Business, Data Science, or related field, or 4 additional years of experience.
- Minimum three (3) years of experience as a Scrum Master supporting enterprise software delivery teams.
- Demonstrated experience serving as a Scrum Master in a SAFe Agile environment.
- Experience supporting delivery of AI-enabled information systems or similar data-driven applications.
- Strong knowledge of Agile, Scrum, Kanban, and SAFe principles and practices.
- Proven ability to facilitate Agile ceremonies, coach teams, remove impediments, and drive continuous improvement.
- Experience working with cross-functional teams including Product Owners, engineers, data scientists, testers, security teams, and operations.
- Strong understanding of software delivery lifecycle practices.
- Ability to manage competing priorities, risks, dependencies, and stakeholder expectations.
- Experience supporting environments with governance, compliance, security, and quality requirements.
- SAFe Scrum Master (SSM), Certified Scrum Master (CSM), PMI-ACP, or similar certification.
- Experience supporting Generative AI, large language models (LLMs), or AI-assisted software products.
- Experience working with sensitive or regulated data (PII, PHI, CUI).
- Familiarity with AI/ML delivery concepts such as model evaluation, prompt iteration, and governance controls.
- Experience with enterprise platforms such as Jira, Azure Dev Ops, Confluence, Miro.
- Experience supporting teams with platforms like Palantir Foundry, Databricks, Azure AI, AWS AI/ML, OpenAI/Azure OpenAI.
- Experience in government, healthcare, or mission-oriented environments.
