About the Contract

We are looking for an experienced UPS World Ship Installation Specialist to assist with the installation, configuration, testing, and troubleshooting of UPS World Ship on a Windows workstation.

The ideal contractor will have previous experience installing and configuring UPS World Ship in a business environment and should be comfortable troubleshooting software, network, printer, database, and shipping-related issues.

This is a project-based contract position and is ideal for an IT technician, desktop support specialist, field technician, or UPS World Ship specialist who has hands-on experience with the application.

Responsibilities
  • Install and configure UPS World Ship on Windows computers.

  • Set up and configure UPS World Ship according to business requirements.

  • Configure UPS shipping accounts and applicable shipping preferences.

  • Assist with importing or migrating existing World Ship data when required.

  • Configure shipping printers, label printers, and related peripherals.

  • Verify communication between World Ship and connected printers/devices.

  • Configure network settings and troubleshoot connectivity issues.

  • Troubleshoot World Ship installation and configuration problems.

  • Test shipping labels and shipment processing after installation.

  • Verify UPS service options and shipping settings.

  • Assist with address book and shipment data configuration.

  • Provide basic user guidance and training after installation.

  • Document installation steps, configurations, and any issues encountered.

  • Coordinate with our internal staff to ensure the system is fully operational.

  • Perform final testing and confirm the workstation is ready for daily shipping operations.

Required Qualifications
  • Previous hands-on experience installing and configuring UPS World Ship
    .

  • Strong Windows desktop support experience.

  • Experience troubleshooting software installation and configuration issues.

  • Familiarity with printers, USB/network-connected devices, and shipping label printers.

  • Basic understanding of Windows networking and connectivity troubleshooting.

  • Ability to work independently and complete a project with minimal supervision.

  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

  • Good communication skills.

  • Ability to document technical changes and provide clear instructions.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting UPS World Ship in a warehouse, distribution, e-commerce, retail, or shipping environment.

  • Experience migrating or transferring World Ship data.

  • Experience configuring thermal shipping label printers.

  • Experience troubleshooting World Ship database or communication issues.

  • General IT support or help-desk experience.

  • CompTIA A+, Network+, Microsoft, or similar technical certifications are a plus but not required
    .

Project Requirements

The contractor should be prepared to:

  • Review the current computer/system setup.

  • Install UPS World Ship.

  • Configure the application.

  • Configure the UPS account and shipping preferences.

  • Configure the shipping/label printer.

  • Test the complete shipping workflow.

  • Troubleshoot any installation or configuration issues.

  • Confirm successful label printing and shipment processing.

  • Provide basic instructions to the end user.

  • Document the completed configuration.

  • Ideal Candidate

    We are specifically looking for someone who has actually installed and supported UPS World Ship before
    .

    Please do not apply if your experience is limited to general Windows installations without hands-on UPS World Ship experience.

    The ideal candidate is someone who can come into an existing business environment, assess the setup, install/configure World Ship, resolve issues, test the system, and leave the workstation fully operational.
