- Lead the Database Excellence stage, reporting to the VP of Data Engineering.
- Own reliability, capacity, health, and sustainability of Git Lab's application data stores.
What You'll Do:
- Set direction and long-range plans for the database platform in line with company strategy.
- Manage database capacity, availability, and communicate risk to senior leadership.
- Hire, retain, and manage performance for teams across regions.
What You'll Bring:
- Experience leading managers of managers and coaching newer managers.
- Hands-on PostgreSQL at scale with capacity planning, upgrades, replication, and production clusters.
- Strong written communication in an asynchronous, handbook-first environment.
