Solution Services E2E Tester; IMS​/PaCO​/SDM Europe

MLR Associates is seeking an experienced Solution Services E2E Tester specializing in IMS, PaCO, SDM, and 5G Core networks for a new contract role. In this fully remote position, you will support end-to-end testing, troubleshooting, and debugging activities within complex telecommunications environments. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional engineering teams to ensure high-quality software deliveries and robust network performance. This opportunity requires a qualified telecommunications professional based in Europe with solid troubleshooting expertise and hands-on protocol analysis capabilities.

As a Solution Services E2E Tester, you will take full ownership of designing, executing, and evaluating manual and end-to-end testing scenarios across packet core, IP multimedia subsystem (IMS), and subscriber data management (SDM) domains. Your day-to-day responsibilities include performing rigorous log analysis using Wireshark, debugging protocol signaling across HTTP/2, SIP, MAP, and Diameter interfaces, and reporting defects using tracking tools like JIRA or QC.

You will work within cloud-native and virtualized network function (VNF) environments, leveraging Kubernetes, Docker, and Python scripts to streamline test executions. Furthermore, you will collaborate with stakeholders to develop test cases, analyze root causes of test failures, and ensure flawless system functionality.

• Execute end-to-end (E2E) manual testing across IMS, Packet Core (PaCO), Subscriber Data Management (SDM), and 5G Core networks.
• Perform in-depth failure analysis, debug complex network issues, and report defects accurately using JIRA or Quality Center (QC).
• Conduct advanced Wireshark packet analysis for detailed log analysis and protocol troubleshooting.
• Test and validate telecom protocols including HTTP2, SIP, MAP, and Diameter across multi-vendor environments.
• Work within cloud, virtualization, and VNF deployments utilizing Kubernetes, Docker, and Python automation scripts.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional team members, developers, and project stakeholders to ensure alignment on quality goals.
• Develop a comprehensive understanding of complex test environments, system architectures, and core software functionality.
• Provide precise requirements and scenarios for test case creation, execution, and validation.

• Minimum of 3 years of relevant professional work experience within the IMS, SDM, PaCO, or 5G telecommunications domain.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Telecommunications Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Expert knowledge of 2G, 3G, 4G, and 5G mobile networks, architectures, and end-to-end call flows.
• Solid practical experience in protocol testing, including HTTP2, SIP, MAP, and Diameter interfaces.
• Hands-on experience working in cloud, virtualization, and VNF deployments using Kubernetes, Docker, and Python.
• Strong proficiency in Wireshark packet analysis and log debugging for root-cause identification.
• Must be based in Europe for remote engagement compliance.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills.

• Advanced certifications in software testing (ISTQB), Kubernetes (CKA/CKAD), or cloud administration.
• Prior experience testing virtualized network functions (VNFs) and cloud-native network functions (CNFs) in carrier-grade networks.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipeline integration for automated regression testing.
• Previous contracting experience within top-tier telecommunications consulting or operator environments.
• Advanced scripting skills in Python or Bash for test automation and log parsing.
