General Placement Service is recruiting on behalf of a well-capitalized, specialty insurance carrier seeking an experienced Senior Human Services Underwriter to manage and grow a profitable book of business within an assigned territory. This position is responsible for underwriting, marketing, and portfolio management within the Human Services segment. The role emphasizes disciplined risk selection, strong producer partnerships, and consistent execution from submission through bind, while meeting defined service standards.
Key ResponsibilitiesUnderwrite new and renewal Human Services business, including risk evaluation, pricing, terms, and binding authority
Manage assigned producer relationships; oversee submission flow, pipeline activity, and service commitments
Develop and deliver competitive quotes; negotiate terms to close business
Maintain underwriting documentation, loss analysis, and pricing rationale
Collaborate with marketing, claims, actuarial, finance, and risk control partners as needed
Maintain accurate records across underwriting and CRM systems
Provide direction for policy issuance and process endorsements timely
Support and mentor underwriting and operations team members
Perform additional duties as assigned
3+ years of multi-line underwriting and marketing experience
Strong knowledge of commercial insurance forms, coverages, and rating
Proven ability to build producer relationships and close business
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
Ability to maintain confidentiality
Valid driver’s license with ability to travel
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
$80,000-$130,000 per year
