Construction Defect - Claim Specialist

• Manage a caseload of litigated and non-litigated construction defect claims under commercial general liability policies
• Conduct investigations and analyze information to make coverage determinations
• Set expense and indemnity reserves within authority levels and monitor for adjustments
• Develop and implement resolution strategies for high-quality outcomes
• Prepare reports and presentations on case developments and industry trends for senior leadership

• Bachelor’s degree preferred; law degree a plus or commensurate experience
• Minimum of seven years handling complex litigated construction defect and property damage matters
• Superior analytical ability and organizational skills
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Strong ability to analyze coverage and liability issues, manage time limits, and assess complex exposures

• Familiarity with owner and contractor controlled insurance policies and programs
• Excellent strategic thinking and execution skills
• Advanced technical claim handling skills, including knowledge of coverage and tort laws
• Ability to influence and persuade others effectively
• Proven track record of exceeding expectations in a professional setting
