Job Summary
Zurich is looking for a great team member to join our Rural Community Insurance Services (RCIS) team. RCIS is one of the leading crop insurance providers in the U.S. We are hiring an Underwriting Account Service Analyst to join the Crop Underwriting team in Sioux Falls, SD. In this role you will support crop insurance agent customers, work closely with experienced Underwriters, and apply your research, analytical, and critical‑thinking skills to assess risks and grow your career.
Responsibilities- Review and evaluate crop insurance policies, ensuring compliance with company policies, state and federal guidelines.
- Ensure complete and accurate policy underwriting by reviewing applications, written agreements, policy change forms, APH databases, acreage reports, gathering missing information, resolving inconsistencies, and outlining next steps.
- Respond to and process requests from claims and compliance departments related to policy underwriting.
- Rectify errors and issues identified in the Federal Crop Insurance Corporation (FCIC) Error Report.
- Support underwrite and support regional specialty crops, including Category C crops, whole‑farm revenue protection, and livestock products.
- Provide outstanding customer service to brokers, agents, distributors, and customers.
- Bachelor’s degree and 2+ years of experience in Insurance, Underwriting, Finance, Accounting or Banking.
- Zürich Certified Insurance Apprentice, including Associate’s Degree and 2+ years of experience in the above areas.
- High School Diploma or Equivalent and 4+ years of experience in the above fields.
- Knowledge of the insurance industry and the legal and regulatory environment.
- Experience with data collection and analysis.
- Experience with processing, rating and policy management systems used in the insurance industry.
- Customer service experience.
- Problem‑solving experience.
- Experience servicing product portfolios for multiple lines of business in insurance or finance.
- Microsoft Office experience.
- Insurance industry knowledge applicable to underwriting rules and procedures.
- Knowledge of agriculture and/or multi‑peril crop insurance and specialty programs.
- Superior skills in relationship building, active listening with customers and co‑workers.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Customer service experience.
- Enjoys working with details and providing accurate data and/or information in a timely manner.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Adobe Acrobat.
- Ability to multi‑task.
- 5% travel.
Salary range: $53,400 – $78,750 with short‑term incentive bonus eligibility set at 10%.
