Complex Claims Unit Specialist-Environmental Claims

• Independently manage all aspects of complex, high-value claims with a focus on resolution strategies
• Provide proactive communication to customers and business partners during claim management
• Review and analyze complex policies and coverage, including general liability and affirmative pollution coverages
• Conduct thorough investigations regarding claims and lawsuits
• Develop and articulate complex coverage, liability, and damage assessments

• 5+ years of experience in general liability claim handling with a focus on environmental or latent injury claims
• Proven track record of effective negotiation and settlement of high-value claims
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Proficiency in MS Office, especially Word and Excel
• Active Property & Casualty State Insurance Adjuster license or ability to obtain licensing within 3 months of hire

• Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred
• 10+ years of experience in long-tail claim handling
• JD or other advanced degree, or experience in an environmental consulting discipline such as geology or environmental engineering
