Commercial Insurance Account Manager | Rock Hill, SC / Charlotte, NC (Hybrid) About Peoples First

The Role

We're looking for a Commercial Insurance Account Manager who thrives in a client-facing environment and takes genuine pride in doing the job well. This is a hybrid position — based in the Rock Hill/Charlotte corridor with flexibility to work from home — and it's built for someone who wants ownership over a real book of business, not just a seat at a desk.

In this role, you'll serve as the day-to-day point of contact for a portfolio of commercial clients, coordinating renewals, managing carrier relationships, and delivering the kind of service that makes clients stay. You'll work closely with producers and leadership to identify coverage gaps, recommend solutions, and help clients understand their risk — not just their premium.

What You'll Do
  • Manage and retain a portfolio of commercial insurance accounts with proactive, consultative service
  • Coordinate renewals, endorsements, certificates, and policy changes with accuracy and urgency
  • Build strong relationships with clients and carriers through clear, consistent communication
  • Identify coverage gaps and cross-sell opportunities that genuinely serve client needs
  • Maintain detailed records and workflows within agency management systems
What We're Looking For
  • 5+ years of commercial lines experience preferred with exposure to middle market clientele
  • Active P&C license
  • Someone who communicates clearly, follows through reliably, and takes ownership without being asked
  • Familiarity with agency management systems
  • CIC, CISR, or comparable designation is a plus — but character and capability matter more
