This role has primary responsibility for managing the portfolio of commercial insurance for our company. The position will support the day‑to‑day operations of Geosyntec by helping our project teams be responsive to client needs. Candidates should have a strong working knowledge of commercial insurance products (professional liability, commercial general liability, auto liability, cyber liability, etc.) and, ideally, a working knowledge of captive insurance programs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Work closely with the Chief Legal Officer to track, manage, and renew Geosyntec’s commercial insurance program.
- Support the company's leadership and project managers in understanding the insurance coverage maintained and help in making decisions and recommendations on coverage updates.
- Collaborate with the Chief Legal Officer and company leadership to review exposures and the insurance program, determining if a carrier is the best fit considering coverage, protection, and cost.
- Collaborate with the insurance broker to market, quote, and prepare proposals for clients from both a risk‑management and insurance perspective to decide upon the best way to manage the company's risk.
- Provide day‑to‑day service to the company's practitioners, anticipating project insurance needs and responding to issues/questions in a timely manner.
- Communicate and collaborate with insurance brokers to address issues, respond to questions, and ensure necessary insurance is in place.
- Track and process premium payments, insurance audits, and assessments.
- Request and review certificates of insurance for accuracy.
- Manage board material for the captive insurance program, review monthly loss runs, and support annual premium audits.
- Maintain insurance records.
- Keep customers updated on pending changes in the insurance world that may impact their coverage.
- Provide timely, professional, accurate communication to clients, team, carrier representatives, and maintain confidentiality of client records and communication.
- A bachelor’s degree in insurance, risk management, business administration, or a related field and at least 3 years of commercial insurance experience as an insurer, broker, or in an insured’s risk management department; or 7 years of directly related experience. (Required)
- Experience renewing commercial insurance programs on behalf of a business is strongly preferred.
- High degree of critical thinking and problem‑solving ability when answers are not readily apparent. (Required)

- Advanced proficiency with technology, including MS Office. (Required)

- Ability to read and analyze insurance documents, contracts, general business periodicals, professional journals, financial reports, legal documents, office procedures, and governmental regulations. (Required)
- Ability to write correspondence, reports, procedure manuals, and presentations conforming to prescribed style and format. (Required)
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from colleagues, groups of professionals, senior management, project teams, executives, clients and subcontractors. (Required)
