Handle complex homeowners and commercial property claims with minimal supervision and guidance from the manager.
LocationThis is a fully remote/work from home role where you will spend 50% of your time in the field, servicing Southern Illinois area. On occasion you may be asked to travel to an office location for in-person engagement activities such as team meetings, training and corporate events.
Responsibilities & QualificationsWe are seeking an experienced property adjuster who can independently manage a variety of homeowners and commercial property claims with minimal supervision while delivering exceptional service and sound decision-making. Success in this position requires strong analytical thinking, excellent negotiation and communication skills, and the ability to build relationships while navigating complex situations. A high level of comfort with claims technology and systems is essential.
- Investigate claims thoroughly, analyze coverage, liability, and damages, and develop well-supported coverage positions.
- Negotiate settlements with insureds, claimants, and attorneys, while maintaining proactive file management and accurate reserving practices.
- Oversee litigated files, present claims to internal committees, and ensure adherence to audit and departmental guidelines.
Qualifications:
- Prior experience handling property claims.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Insurance, or a related field; experience in the property restoration industry is a plus.
- Industry designations such as Associate in Claims (AIC), Associate in General Insurance (AINS), or CPCU coursework preferred.
- Acceptable driving record.
- Must reside in Southern Illinois or the St. Louis metro area.
The salary range for this position is $70,000-$90,000. The actual base pay offered to the successful candidate will be based on multiple factors, including but not limited to job-related knowledge/skills, experience, business needs, geographical location, and internal equity. Compensation decisions are made by West Bend and are dependent upon the facts and circumstances of each position and candidate.
