Position: Property Claims Adjuster II (Seattle, WA - WFH)

Job Summary

We’re looking for a Field Claims Specialist to investigate and resolve moderate to severe property damage claims in the Seattle, WA region. The role requires onsite and virtual inspections, and may support additional territories as a desk adjuster. Travel is primarily to client sites (3–4 days per week) with occasional overnight trips.

Key Responsibilities
  • Handles all assigned claims promptly and effectively, with little to no direction and oversight.
  • Makes decisions within delegated authority as outlined in company policies and procedures.
  • Determines proper policy coverages and applies appropriate claims practices to resolve cases in alignment with company guidelines.
  • Opens, closes and adjusts reserves according to company practices to ensure reserve adequacy.
  • Adheres to file conferencing notification and authority procedures.
  • Maintains current knowledge of insurance and applicable product/services, court decisions, policy changes and modifications; attends seminars and training sessions as required.
  • Stays updated on local industry repair procedures and local market pricing.
  • Submits severe incident reports, reinsurance reports and other required information to claims management.
  • Partners with Special Investigations Unit and Subrogation to identify fraud and subrogation opportunities.
  • Assists or prepares files for lawsuit, trial, or subrogation.
  • Initiates and conducts follow‑ups using claims and related business systems.
  • Delivers outstanding customer service to all internal, external, current and prospective customers.
  • Maintains high standards of professional conduct while delivering exceptional claims service.
  • May perform other responsibilities as assigned.
Reporting Relationship

Reports directly to the Claims Manager as an individual contributor.

Qualifications
  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience.
  • 3–5 years of related property claims experience.
  • State licensing where required.
  • Successful completion of required claims certification or training classes.
  • Obtain Xactimate Level1 certification within the first year of employment and Level2 within two years.
  • Strong customer service competency.
  • Proficient with Xactimate and automated claims systems.
  • Ability to evaluate and successfully advise on property claims, including establishing repair requirements and cost estimates.
  • Analytical and problem‑solving skills for coverage application, jurisdiction laws, and policy exclusions.
  • Organizational skills to prioritize work.
  • Command of written and verbal communication skills with policyholders, claimants, repair persons, attorneys, agents and the general public.
  • Proficiency in operating a personal computer and related claims software.
  • Must be able to safely access and inspect rooftops using a ladder and conduct physical inspections on rooftops up to 8/12 pitch.
  • Valid driver’s license with satisfactory driving record.

Location & Travel

Work‑from‑home position with day travel to policy locations in Seattle, WA and surrounding counties (Whatcom, Skagit, Snohomish, King). Occasional overnight travel may be required.
