Senior Loss Control Consultant - Territory CT-NY

Position Overview

Senior Loss Control Consultant – remote, home‑based. Will serve the territory from Hartford, CT to Buffalo, NY, traveling up to 60% of the time. A company car will be provided.

• Survey and service commercial risks of any size and/or complexity for workers' compensation coverage.
• Originate and manage all service account scheduling and activities for the assigned territory.
• Meet or exceed all service standards.
• Accomplish risk improvement by providing management consultation services, developing recommendations for hazard control, and providing direct support services to the insureds.
• Conduct loss control services and training for customers to help reduce losses.
• Participate in team activities designed to help retain accounts.
• Maintain specialized state‑of‑the‑art professional capabilities in loss control support for workers' compensation products.
• Maintain specialized knowledge of company/department manuals and procedures, and relevant federal, state, and other pertinent codes and regulations applicable to property, liability, and casualty lines of coverage.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Bachelor's degree and at least 13 years of loss control experience working for a major writer of workers' compensation insurance.
• Reside in the territory listed above.
• Strong workers' compensation knowledge required, with ability to conduct training programs and classes for clients.
• Basic knowledge of underwriting and product management skills.
• Broad knowledge of commercial lines of insurance coverage, engineering principles, loss control concepts, and safety standards and codes.
• Strong consideration will be given to candidates with industry designations such as ARM, CPCU, Certified Engineering Technician, and Certified Safety Professional.
• Extensive use of computers and software programs is required.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills are a must.
• Completion of or continuing progress toward a professional designation preferred (e.g., Certified Safety Professional, Associate in Risk Management, Certified Safety and Health Management, Associate Loss Control Management, Occupational Health and Safety Technician).
