Hybrid Model:
Mon‑Thurs in office, Fri‑work from home.
- Manage a caseload of Construction Defect and Major Case General Liability claims, including coverage analysis, investigation, damage evaluation, litigation management, reserving, and resolution.
- Develop positive relationships with defense counsel and work with them to design cost‑effective litigation strategies and action plans, directing counsel to execute strategies.
- Prepare and present large loss reports.
- Complete decision trees to aid detailed reserving analysis.
- Establish timely and accurate claim and expense reserves.
- Negotiate and convey claim settlements within authority limits.
- Attend mediations, settlement conferences and trials.
- Draft timely Reservation of Rights, Coverage Disclaimer, Tender Response Letters and other complex correspondence.
- Interpret subcontract agreements.
- Maintain an effective diary system and document claim file activities per established procedures.
- Manage file inventory to ensure timely resolution of cases.
- Handle files in compliance with state regulations.
- Provide excellent customer service to insureds, agents and other internal and external customers.
- Perform administrative functions such as document preparation, expense accounts and time off reporting as required.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Minimum of 7 years of prior experience handling large Construction Defect and Third‑Party General Liability claims with aggregated exposure of more than $500,000.
- Proven ability to identify and address coverage issues, conduct complex investigations, manage reserves promptly and develop detailed action plans.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication, and collaboration skills.
- Excellent negotiation, time management and organizational skills.
- Strong knowledge of tort and contract law in our operating states.
- Effective presentation skills.
- Working knowledge of legal billing software, claim systems, spreadsheet and word processing software applications.
- Self‑directed with the ability to work independently.
- Adjuster licenses in the states of NC, SC, and GA.
