Summary
We are looking for a highly capable Senior Workers' Compensation Claims Adjuster to help us on a temporary assignment with an estimated end date of October 9, 2026 and work from anywhere in the United States.
This role will adjudicate indemnity workers' compensation claims of higher technical complexity for our customers in the states of CO and in at least one of the following states: KY, VA, or WV (preferable WV).
Contractors in this role are required to accurately record all hours worked and submit timesheets in accordance with company policy. Overtime may be assigned as business needs dictate, and employees are expected to work overtime when required.
Essential Responsibilities- Adjudicate highly complex indemnity workers' compensation claims under limited technical direction and within broad limits and authority.
- Handle difficult problems requiring broader issue understanding.
- Report claims trends and developments to senior management and underwriters.
- Investigate claims promptly and thoroughly.
- Analyze claims forms, policies, endorsements, client instructions, and other records to determine coverage.
- Interview all involved parties.
- Manage claims in litigation.
- Maintain diary and complete tasks to ensure timely resolution and best financial outcome.
- Set claim reserves properly.
- Coordinate assignment of expertise resources to assist in case resolution.
- Prepare reports for file documentation.
- Apply creative solutions for best financial outcome.
- Negotiate settlements.
- Handle telephone calls and written correspondence with parties.
- Show appreciation and passion for strong claim management.
- Advanced knowledge of adjudicating workers' compensation claims in CO and at least one of KY, VA, or WV (preferably WV) with a minimum of five years’ experience.
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited university required; two or more insurance designations or four additional years of related indemnity experience may substitute for a degree.
- License required in KY and WV (unless possessing only CO and VA expertise).

- Colorado (outside Denver), Delaware, Illinois (outside Chicago), Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts (outside Boston), Minnesota, Nevada, Rhode Island, Vermont, and Virginia: $48.65 - $57.59 per hour
- Boston metro area, California (outside Los Angeles & San Francisco), Connecticut, Chicago metro area, Denver metro area, New Jersey (outside NYC), New York State (outside NYC), Washington DC metro area, & Washington State: $53.55 - $63.70 per hour
- New York City, Los Angeles, and San Francisco metro areas: $58.40 - $69.54 per hour
