Senior Transportation & Logistics (Marine) Claim Consultant
As a Risk Consultant II (Transportation & Logistics / Marine Claims) at Aon, you will act as a trusted advocate helping clients navigate complex marine cargo, P&I, and marine liability claims. Reporting to the Transportation & Logistics Claims Director, you will partner with brokers, carriers, adjusters, and other specialists to manage claims from initial reporting through resolution, ensuring strong outcomes for clients in a fast-paced, global environment.
This role offers flexible location options, including remote work. You will apply deep expertise in marine insurance coverage, claims documentation, and valuation to develop tailored claim strategies, maximize coverage recovery, and address coverage challenges. Ideal candidates are commercially minded professionals with strong relationship-building, problem-solving, and negotiation skills who thrive while managing multiple priorities and delivering high-impact solutions.
Job Responsibilities:
- Partner with colleagues across Aon's Marine Claims, Broking, Risk Control, and Analytics teams to deliver coordinated, client-centric solutions for complex Marine Cargo & Logistics, Protection & Indemnity (P&I), and Marine Liability claims, working closely with insurers, adjusters, TPAs, surveyors, and other market participants.
- Apply deep knowledge of marine insurance coverage, coverage triggers, and risk financing structures to help clients navigate complex claims scenarios and achieve optimal outcomes.
- Establish clear, effective claim reporting protocols and develop client-specific claim manuals aligned to each client's priorities, risk profile, and operating environment.
- Proactively identify, gather, and present the documentation and analysis required to substantiate claim values and support timely, favorable resolution.
- Evaluate and prepare claims to ensure calculations fully leverage applicable policy coverage and accurately reflect client exposures and losses.
- Provide end-to-end claims support, bringing a ground-up understanding of loss events, valuation, and recovery strategies.
- Advise clients on policy coverage interpretation and vendor contract considerations, serving as a trusted claims and coverage resource.
- Advocate on behalf of clients in matters involving claim declinations, reservations of rights, and other coverage disputes, escalating issues as appropriate to drive resolution.

Skills and experience that will lead to success:
- Required Experience:
10+ years experience with Marine Claims (Cargo, Logistics, P&I / Marine Liabilities) - Fluent in Microsoft Outlook and Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

Pay Transparency Laws:
The salary range for this position (intended for U.S. applicants) is $140,000 to $175,000 annually. The actual salary will vary based on applicant's education, experience, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. The salary may also be adjusted based on applicant's geographic location. This position is eligible to participate in one of Aon's annual incentive plans to receive an annual discretionary bonus in addition to base salary.
