Flood Underwriter – Underwriting Team
We are seeking a talented individual to join our Underwriting team at Torrent Technologies. This role will be based in Kalispell, or can be performed Remotely Nationwide.
Responsibilities- Underwrite new submissions to ensure new policies are correct, per guidelines.
- Process endorsements, cancellations, and reinstatements, handle billing issues, and complete policy issuance.
- Review all underwriting information, including applications, photographs, elevation certificates, and third‑party internet resources to accurately underwrite policies.
- Provide customer service to agents via phone support, online chat, and emails, meeting required production KPIs as defined by leadership.
- Deescalate difficult customer situations and bring them to complete resolution.
- Actively participate in group activities, including daily huddles, team meetings, and training opportunities.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 1+ year of insurance underwriting or recent flood insurance experience.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Basic to intermediate technical knowledge of systems and procedures, with attention to detail.
- Basic computer knowledge and proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite, particularly Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Previous customer service experience.
- 2+ years of underwriting experience with an ANFI designation.
- Experience with underwriting methodologies and flood insurance practices, along with familiarity with organizational insurance procedures and policies.
- Strong time management skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Strong interpersonal skills for interacting with team members and clients.
