Position: TEMP-Senior Workers’ Compensation Claims Adjuster

Job Summary

We are looking for a highly capable Senior Workers' Compensation Claims Adjuster to help us on a temporary assignment ending October9,2026, working from anywhere in the United States. This role will adjudicate high‑technical‑complexity workers' compensation claims for customers in South Carolina and Virginia. Only government‑mandated benefits will be provided. Contractors must accurately record all hours worked and submit timesheets in accordance with company policy.

Overtime may be assigned as business needs dictate.

Essential Responsibilities
  • Adjudicate highly complex indemnity workers’ compensation claims under limited technical direction.
  • Investigate and resolve claims promptly and thoroughly, including interviewing all involved parties.
  • Analyze claims forms, policies, endorsements, client instructions, and other records to determine coverage.
  • Manage claims in litigation and set appropriate claim reserves.
  • Coordinate assignment of expertise resources to support case resolution.
  • Prepare reports for file documentation and present claims trends to senior management and underwriters.
  • Apply creative solutions to achieve the best financial outcome and negotiate settlements.
  • Maintain a timely diary of tasks to ensure cases move toward resolution.
  • Communicate with insureds, claimants, and other parties via telephone and written correspondence.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Minimum five years adjudicating workers’ compensation claims in South Carolina and Virginia.
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university, or equivalent two insurance designations or four additional years of related experience.
  • South Carolina license required at the start of assignment.
  • Strong business acumen and understanding of insurance profitability.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to build lasting relationships.
  • Natural curiosity, desire to work in a fast‑paced environment, and excellent evaluation and strategic skills.
  • Strong claim negotiation skills and strong customer focus.
  • Effective time‑management and prioritization of multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Ability to articulate the financial value of work to stakeholders, including CEOs.
  • Independence with sound judgment, inner strength, and courage.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite and other business‑related software.
  • Polished and professional written and verbal communication; fluently read/write English.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development through continuing education.
Pay Ranges

$48.65–$57.59 per hour (Colorado outside Denver metro, Delaware, Illinois outside Chicago, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts outside Boston, Minnesota, Nevada, Rhode Island, Vermont, and Virginia).
$53.55–$63.70 per hour (Boston metro, California outside Los Angeles & San Francisco metro, Connecticut, Chicago metro, Denver metro, New Jersey outside New York City metro, New York State outside NYC metro, Washington, D.C. metro area, & Washington State).
$58.40–$69.54 per hour (New York City, Los Angeles, and San Francisco metro areas).
