Overview

This role focuses on virtual property claim handling, with an emphasis on water losses. The Inside Property Adjuster provides service to policyholders by virtually inspecting damages, investigating coverage, preparing estimates, and settling claims promptly and accurately. Interaction with customers, contractors, and vendors occurs through software such as Xactimate and ClaimsX Video Collaboration, via voice, email, and text messages.
Responsibilities- Provide exceptional service to policyholders by virtually inspecting damages, investigating coverage, preparing estimates, and settling claims promptly and accurately.
- Interact with customers, contractors, and vendors through various software platforms (e.g., Xactimate, ClaimsX Video Collaboration) and communication channels.
- Focus on water losses to deliver high levels of support and resolution for those claims.
- Act as Customer Service Expert by embodying empathy, clarity, and partnership in each property claim.
- Investigate property claims independently, review damage details, and interpret policies to determine coverage.
- Communicate effectively with customers via phone, email, and video chat to support a fast, fair, and easy claims process and keep customers updated on progress.
- Evaluate and negotiate settlements with customers, vendors, third-party carriers, and claimants in accordance with legal and standard methodologies.
- Utilize multiple tools (estimation tools, job aids, settlements platforms) and maintain sharp critical thinking to complete claims efficiently.
- Maintain accurate documentation and records in the claims system, ensuring timely and thorough processing of each claim.
- Schedule:
Monday through Friday, with occasional weekend duties. - During Training:
In-office onboarding, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. - Post-Training:
Work from Home (Monday and Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.) and In Office (Tuesday–Thursday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.).
- 1+ year of customer service experience required.
- Previous industry experience is highly desired.
- Proficiency with Xactimate and other relevant software for virtual assessments preferred.
- Ability to assess property damages and determine claim coverage accurately.
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills for remote interactions with customers and stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently in a virtual environment.
- Detail-oriented and organized with a focus on high-quality, efficient claim resolutions.
- Residency within the posted location is mandatory.
- Notice of Licensing Requirement:
Depending on location, you may be required to obtain an adjuster and/or an appraiser license, including passing a background check. If applicable, licenses must be secured within 60 days of hire. - The Hiring Manager will coordinate with the Centralized Licensing team to ensure proper licensing.

May be eligible for a $1,000 Licensing Sign-On Bonus if you hold applicable active licenses (e.g., Home Resident Property & Casualty License, Designated Home State licenses, and/or Appraiser License).

Base compensation offered for this role is $47,500 - $81,550 annually and is based on experience and qualifications. Total compensation includes incentive pay where applicable.
