Role Description

The Senior Workers Compensation Claim Rep is a full-time role based in Charlotte, NC, with flexibility to work from home. All team members do come to the office the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of each month. This role is responsible for managing a caseload of workers’ compensation claims from initial report through resolution, including investigation, coverage analysis, determination of compensability, and ongoing claim oversight.

Daily activities include coordinating medical and disability benefits, evaluating property or wage‑related damages, setting and adjusting reserves, and negotiating settlements in accordance with company guidelines and regulatory requirements. The individual will interact regularly with insureds, claimants, medical providers, attorneys, and internal partners, providing clear communication and responsive customer service. The role also involves documenting claim activity, preparing reports, contributing to process improvements, and mentoring less experienced team members as needed.

Qualifications
  • Demonstrated expertise in Claims Handling and Claims Management, including investigation, evaluation, reserving, and settlement of workers’ compensation claims.
  • Strong knowledge of Insurance principles and workers’ compensation regulations, with the ability to apply policies and guidelines to complex claim scenarios.
  • Experience managing claims involving Property Damage or related financial impacts, with sound judgment in assessing exposure and risk.
  • Proven Customer Service skills, including clear communication, empathy, and the ability to build professional relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  • Several years of workers’ compensation claims experience, preferably in a senior or lead capacity.
  • Ability to work effectively in a hybrid environment, balancing in‑office collaboration in Charlotte, NC with independent work from home.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and time‑management skills, with attention to detail and accuracy in documentation.
  • Proficiency with claims management systems and standard office software.
  • Relevant professional certifications (e.g., AIC, CPCU) or coursework in insurance or risk management are beneficial.
  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in a related field (such as insurance, business, or risk management) is strongly preferred but not required with equivalent experience.
