Position Summary- This is a work‑from‑home position with the ideal candidate living and working within their assigned territory:
Marysville, Union, Dublin, Logan, Marion, and Delaware, Ohio. - The hiring manager may consider candidates for Property Adjuster II. Level offered will reflect experience and qualifications.
- Includes a company car with paid gas card.
Exercises independent discretion or judgment in handling property claims within designated authority. Also responsible for servicing the assigned territory and may handle litigated claims.
Duties and Responsibilities- Contact policyholders regarding property claims within level of authority. Conduct investigations, interview insureds and witnesses, inspect damage and prepare estimates. Evaluate and recommend coverage.
- Handle property claims within designated authority. Set and maintain adequacy reserves. Obtain and review reports, statements, records, and related material as required. Evaluate information to determine coverage and claim value. Determine payments and issue checks or decline as required.
- Document claim files and submit final report to file for closure.
- Identify subrogation situations and initiate appropriate action.
- Service assigned territory and bring claims to conclusion.
- Interact with agents and district sales managers on matters of mutual concern.
- Handle property claims involving damages or coverage. May handle litigated claims, negotiating with plaintiff attorney, or coordinating litigation with defense counsel as required.
- Develop and apply a working knowledge of estimating practices and procedures related to property claims adjustment.
- Attend industry‑related training and other sessions to stay current on policy changes, interpretation, or new legislation.
- Successfully complete Technical Learning Center Training within one year of hire date.
- Participate on catastrophe team when required.

- Minimum educational and experience requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED and two years of claims handling experience, or equivalent; or
- High School Diploma or GED and successful completion of ERIE sponsored formal education; or
- Bachelor's Degree (required).
- Additional experience:
- Incumbent must live in assigned territory unless approved.
- Requires serving on catastrophe duty; may need travel on short notice to other locations for periods > two consecutive weeks.
- Designations and/or licenses:
- Willingness to pursue and complete Technical Learning Center Training required.
- Successful completion of AIC 33 and AIC 35 preferred.
- Willingness to obtain and maintain required licenses.
- Valid driver's license and good driving record required.
