Equitable is seeking an experienced Employee Benefits Claims Team Leader, Claims Support to join our Disability and Absence Claims organization. The role manages claims, fosters client relationships, and ensures exceptional service delivery for high‑touch claim teams.

• Claims Management: Oversees the end‑to‑end claims process for disability and/or leave of absence products, ensuring accurate processing within regulatory and company guidelines.
• Liaison for Internal Partners: Collaborates closely with distribution and other internal partners to meet client needs, clarify policy interpretation, handle amendment requests, and resolve claim escalations.
• Client Relationships: Fosters strong relationships with clients, understands their needs, and ensures high levels of satisfaction by promptly addressing issues.
• Team Leadership: Builds and leads high‑performing internal claims teams. Provides coaching, mentorship, and development opportunities; sets performance goals for the teams.
• Compliance: Ensures all claims processes comply with relevant laws and regulations, staying current on legislative changes and adjusting processes accordingly.
• Stakeholder Management: Works with internal departments, external partners, and other key stakeholders to deliver a market‑leading claims experience.
• Mentoring, Coaching and Support: Provides mentoring and coaching to claims examiners; handles referral tasks for complex items requiring experienced resources.
• Other Duties: Performs additional duties as assigned.

Flex work schedule: fully remote/hybrid. Salary range is $68,000–$92,000. Eligibility for performance bonuses and short‑term incentive compensation depends on level.

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional work experience.
• 5+ years of client‑facing experience in Employee Benefits/Group Insurance Claims.
• 3+ years of people‑leadership experience with strong team‑management skills.
• Specific experience with Short‑Term Disability, Long‑Term Disability, and/or Paid/Unpaid Leaves.

• Strong understanding of technology and industry trends.
• Excellent client relationship management skills.
• Strong verbal, written, and presentation skills.
• Comfortable dealing with complexity and ambiguity, able to explore multiple solutions.
• Prior experience with FINEOS Claims software platform highly desired.
• Experience with Salesforce platform a plus.

• Claims Management: Expertise delivering a positive claims experience for Disability and/or Leave of Absence products.
• Effective Communications: Skilled in communicating concepts, tools, and techniques; essential for client relationships.
• Leadership: Knowledge of leadership practices; skilled at inspiring and guiding teams.
• Data Analysis and Interpretation: Advanced proficiency in claims data analysis, interpreting complex data to drive improvement.
