Brown & Brown is seeking a Claims and Risk Manager to join our growing team in Portland, OR!
The Claims and Risk Manager develops and implements comprehensive risk management strategies, advocates for clients throughout the claims process, and collaborates with internal teams and external partners to ensure effective, compliant, and client-focused service delivery.
This is a hybrid role with a schedule of 3 days a week in the office and 2 days working from home, balanced around client meetings and field visits.
How You Will Contribute:- Develop and maintain relationships with clients and carriers through phone calls, personal meetings, seminars, newsletters, etc.
- Prepare professional reports, exposure analysis and claim and risk management service plans.
- Advocate for the client during the claims process; coordinate claim reviews.
- Facilitate services with team members and other service providers.
- Communicate with team members regarding activities and progress on service plans.
- Consult with clients, team members, and service providers to develop and implement effective risk management policies and programs.
- Exercise considerable discretion and independent judgment.
- Maintain current knowledge of legislation and technical updates and advise clients of regulatory changes and compliance issues.
- Attend training sessions, courses, etc to maintain up-to-date skills and licensing requirements.
- Conduct an appropriate level of confidentiality of information processed.
- Adjusters License and Property & Casualty License (required within 6 months of joining).
- CPCU, AIC, or ARM designation a plus.
- Bachelor's Degree (BA/BS) or commensurate work experience.
- 3+ years of experience in Insurance or Claims & Risk Management (candidates with 6–10 years and CPCU designation will be considered at the higher end of the pay range).
- Basic knowledge and understanding of property & casualty coverage, current legislation, rules, laws, and OSHA regulations.
- Experience with Microsoft 365 (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams).
- Excellent written communication, customer service and interpersonal skills.
