Job Summary
CAT Field Property Adjuster – travel up to 90% of the time performing inspections of properties damaged by wind, hail, water, lightning, fire and other perils across the United States. Work within a 10‑day on and 4‑day off schedule with 12‑hour workdays. When inspections are not possible on‑site, handle claims remotely via the ClaimsX Video Collaboration platform.
Responsibilities- Customer Service Expert – demonstrate empathy, compassion and clarity, and become a partner in each property claim.
- Investigator – conduct detailed reviews of damage, interpret policies and determine coverage.
- Effective Communicator – use phone, email, and video chat to guide customers through a fast, fair, and easy claims process, tailoring communication to their preferences.
- Negotiator – evaluate and negotiate settlements with customers, vendors, third‑party carriers and claimants according to legal and business standards, employing tactics for challenging situations.
- Problem Solver – utilize estimating tools, job aids and settlement platforms, applying critical thinking in a fast‑paced environment.
- Recorder – maintain accurate documentation in the claims system, ensuring policy compliance and clear records of all work.
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel 90% of the time, including overnight travel.
- Ability to work weekends and holidays as required by the claims schedule.
- Physical capability to carry a 50‑lb ladder and access roofs up to a 6/12 pitch on 1‑ or 2‑story structures.
- Age 21 or older to rent a company vehicle.
- Strong critical thinking and technical skills to assess damages accurately and expedite settlements.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for exceptional customer service.
- Organized, detail‑oriented, and focused on delivering high‑quality work.
- Previous experience as an outside adjuster desirable.
- Proficiency in Xactimate or similar estimating software preferred.
- Minimum internet bandwidth of 50MB down/50MB up for remote work.
- Not available for California, Alaska, Hawaii, Washington or Puerto Rico residents.
Depending on the office or area, you may need to obtain an adjuster and/or appraiser license, including a background check. Licenses must be secured within 60 days of hire. Individuals holding an active insurance license must terminate all appointments before onboarding and must not hold any outside appointments. Adjuster applicants holding a resident producer license must surrender that license upon instruction from the licensing team.

Eligible for a $1,000 Licensing Sign‑On Bonus if you hold the required active licenses, which may include Home Resident Property & Casualty License, Designated Home State (DHS) Florida or Texas License, or applicable Appraiser License. Former Allstate employees and those being rehired are not eligible for this bonus.

Base compensation ranges from $56,000 to $105,000 annually, based on experience and qualifications. Candidates will undergo a background investigation.
