Position: Workers' Compensation Claims Specialist (REMOTE - ME, CT, NJ)

Workers’ Compensation Claims Specialist

Creative Risk Solutions (CRS), a line of business under Holmes Murphy, seeks a dedicated Workers’ Compensation Claims Specialist to manage claims in Maine, Connecticut, and New Jersey.

Responsibilities
  • Receive, gather, and accurately transmit workers’ compensation information to the company from insureds, claimants, and internal staff in a timely manner.
  • Investigate, evaluate, and resolve lost‑time Workers’ Compensation claims, including litigated claims.
  • Mediates situations between the insured and the insurance company with minimal supervisory support, researching coverage issues as needed.
  • Enter and maintain accurate information on the company computer system throughout the claim process, including final settlement details.
  • Generate daily checks for indemnity and medical payments.
  • Develop and monitor consistency in procedural matters of the claims‑handling process within CRS.
  • Show willingness to become licensed in the jurisdiction where claims are handled.
Qualifications
  • Education: High school diploma; college degree preferred. Technical designations such as AIC and CPCU encouraged.
  • Experience: 3‑5 years of claims experience with a strong background in Workers’ Compensation claims handling; prior experience with Maine, Connecticut, and New Jersey claims is required.
  • Licensing: Active Maine, Connecticut, and/or New Jersey Workers’ Compensation License required or the ability to acquire within three months of hire.
  • Skills: Proficient knowledge of Workers’ Compensation insurance coverage and claims processing procedures; ability to adjudicate lost‑time claims across multiple jurisdictions; quick learning of various software programs; strong problem‑solving and relationship‑building abilities.

Salary Range: $57,500–$98,900, based on education, experience, and certifications.
